Cheju Halla University (president: Kim, Sung-Hun, Ph.D.) concluded an agreement for Increasing Understanding for University International Development Cooperation Project with KOICA in January 24th (Fri.) at the training center international conference room.

More than 80 universities applied for KOICAs Increasing Understanding for University International Development Cooperation project and CHU was selected solely in Jeju since the result of evaluation on fidelity of project proposal, volition for project, and project performing capacity. Only 30 universities were selected for this project such as Ewha Womans University, and Seogang University.
KOICAs Increasing Understanding for University International Development Cooperation project will be propelled by CHUs International Development Cooperation Support Center, and an optional liberal arts course will be opened for 100 students in the school of Nursing and Health Science in 2014. The course includes special lectures by invited external specialists in international development cooperation and health & medical area, and overseas site activities.
Through this project, CHUs potential health care professionals can grow into a specialists of ODA project based on the understanding of under developed countries environment and geological characteristics. In addition, it could demonstrate CHUs capacity in performing ODA projects in association with the government.
