2014 Launching of the Jeju Province Diseases of the Heart, Brain and Arteries Prevention and Care Project
- Because of the severity and extent of the problems caused by high blood pressure, diabetes and other such disesases, and the insufficient management of these problems, Jeju's provincial government has launched a project to prevent and better manage diseases of the heart, brain and arteries. They are hoping to raise public awareness of these health problems.
- A total of 4 healthcare centers in the province were chosen as the sites of promotional campaigns and educational programs. The project will also carry out activities at local festivals.
- At present, the government is providing financial support for counseling and education at three healthcare centers in Seogwipo. The recently launched project is being carried out by Cheju Halla University's Academy-Industry Cooperation Center in conjunction with the provincial government.
