As one of the leading universities of international cooperation, Cheju Halla University held an opening ceremony of 'Hue-Halla Center for Excellence in Nursing Education¡¯, in Hue National University, Vietnam on September 19, 2015.

The ceremony welcomed the director of Industry-Academic Collaboration Institution at Cheju Halla University; faculty and staff of International Cooperation Leading University Project; the heads of Hue University, Vietnam; Vietnamese officials of Ministry of Education and of Health; Korean consuls in Vietnam; and officials of Korean Cultural Center and Sejong Hakdang (School) in Vietnam. The opening address was delivered by Changgyu Im, the director of Industry-Academic Collaboration Institution at Cheju Halla University along with Cao Ngoc Thanh, the president of Hue University, Vietnam.
In the welcoming remarks, Director Im assured the two countries¡¯ strong cooperative relationship, and said, ¡°Halla and Hue will build such a friendly and harmonious partnership that we can foster Vietnam Hue-Halla Center for Excellence in Nursing Education to be a hub-institution of high-quality local health care services, by utilizing Halla¡¯s practical curriculum and expertise to operate emergency medical care training center. Cao Ngoc Thanh, the President of Hue University explained the importance of the center by saying, ¡°the establishment of 'Hue-Halla Center for Excellence in Nursing Education¡¯ will improve the quality of local emergency care and nursing training and eventually standardize and globalize the nurse education of Hue University.¡±
International Cooperation Leading Universities is a project run by Ministry of Education in order to nurture and support those Korean universities who help developing countries with their academic and educational resources and capability. Currently 6 universities are selected, which includes consortium of Ewha Womans University, Pohang University of Science and Technology, and Busan National University of Education; Yeungnam University; Cheju Halla University; and Changwon National University. They are working on projects at 6 universities in 6 countries including Cambodia or Ethiopia. For example, Hue-Halla Center for Excellence in Nursing Education serves as a leading nurse-training center that features practice-oriented nursing curriculum and ubiquitous educational environment.
Since June 2014, Cheju Halla University has built up a practical curriculum that entails ICT learning environment, emergency medical care training system, specialized curriculum, first-aid technique training, and even Korean culture session at College of Nursing of Hue National University. Halla also has various plans for exchanging such as inviting to PBL symposium, nursing training, or BLS emergency medical training.
