CHU (President: Kim, Seong - Hun) Department of Early Childhood Education was awarded a consolation prize in the Competition of Intensive Bachelor¡¯s Degree Courses 2015. The competition is supervised by Korean Council of College Education and provided by Committee of Intensive Bachelor¡¯s Degree Courses for Junior Colleges.

This award-winning ¡°Program for cultivating early childhood field-experts through FIRST system¡± was originally developed for the annual forum that the department has held for intensive bachelor¡¯s degree courses since 2010 when it first started to operate the courses in order to strengthen teachers¡¯ problem solving competency in classroom. The award is particularly valuable because the program was the only winner in liberal arts and social study candidates.

CHU Department of Early Childhood Education has been qualified for A level in national teacher education institute evaluation by Ministry of Education in 2013, and now it is recognized by its excellent intensive bachelor¡¯s degree courses. These achievements show that CHU Department of Early Childhood Education is running a quality curriculum for not only junior college but also bachelor¡¯s degree level program. The department dean, Kyesun Won said, ¡°I thank CHU for all the financial support that allowed the intensive bachelor¡¯s degree course forum and I also thank child care centers in Jeju area for their active participation. We will try our best to grow continuously.¡±
