科目概要

学部紹介 to the Theory of Childhood Education

This course covers the basis of and developments in childhood education, the importance of childhood education, student development, the concept of childhood education, childhood educational systems, early childhood development, effective kindergarten design, the operation of childhood educational programs, and play and childhood education.

Childhood Art Education

Students learn about the characteristics and developmental stages of early childhood art, various theories and practices for the encouragement of creative art, onsite art teaching methods and how to successfully fulfill their roles as instructors.

Childhood Play Guidance

Students are taught the concept, characteristics, development and value of play, various theories of children's play, methods of encouraging the development of young children through play, observation and recording of play and how to effectively fulfill their roles as teachers of children.

Childhood Development

This course covers the development of children and young children, the main psychological theories about infant and childcare, characteristics of children at each level of development, social and emotional development, language development and physical development.

Childhood Music Education

Students learn the theory of childhood music education and how to make schedules for teaching music to children. They make presentations of their work and acquire basic skills for use in childhood education.

Childhood Educational Programs

This course covers the concept and basic theory of childhood educational programs, the philosophical, psychological and social basis of curricula, the different types of childhood educational programs, creating and planning curricula, and operating and evaluating programs.

Language Guidance

This course covers the characteristics and functions of language in children, theories of childhood language development, and the theory and practice of childhood education. Students research and develop language programs and teaching materials for use at kindergartens, and create and evaluate teaching aids.

Childhood Mathematics and Science Education

Students learn about the goals, methods and contents of childhood mathematics and science education, as well as the use of teaching materials and educational environments in increasing children's ability to think creatively, mathematically, logically and scientifically. Through the creation of teaching materials for use in science and mathematics classes for children and their application in model classes, students learn how to match their educational programs the needs of students at different levels of development.

Childhood Health Education

This course provides students with the basic knowledge required to teach children about healthy practices in their daily lives, and covers the characteristics of childhood health and the theory and practice of teaching children according to different situations encountered. Students learn about the concept of health, childhood health diagnosis and evaluation, personal hygiene and healthy habits, safety and the prevention of accidents, treating disease and eating habits.

Operation & Management of Children's Educational Institutes

This course covers the theory of the operation of children's educational institutes, current practices, human relationships, management principles, office management, and the theory and practice of effective onsite management and participation methods.

Observation of Children and Research Methods

Students learn research methods for studying the characteristics and development of children, and choose a child for a case study at a childhood educational institute to research the characteristics and development of children.

Childcare Training

Students observe classes and childhood development situations at infant and childcare facilities and develop class plans. By conducting special classes, tier classes and all-day classes, students learn childcare skills and teaching management skills.

Parental Education

This course covers the concept, methods and need for parental education, onsite evaluation of children and consultation with parents, features of different generations of parents' care of children, developmental stages and parental roles, parental development, theories and programs related to the influence of parents on children, and the creation of parental education programs suited to different teaching environments.

Childhood Multimedia Education

This course covers the goals, systems and contents of childhood multimedia education, planning and developing comprehensive programs, establishing learning environments with computers, the analysis and utilization of software for children, creating and using materials for teaching computers to children, the internet, saving pictures and sounds, making video, and other skills related to childhood multimedia education.

Observation of Children & Lab

Through onsite training, students learn about the characteristics of children according to age, the contents of a daily education program and the role of instructors. Students combine theory with practice and learn correct teaching methods and attitudes.

Childhood Cultural Education

This course covers the concept and goals of childhood cultural education, matching teaching content to the level of development of students, the essentials of literature, authors, fairy tales, picture stories, the theory and practice of motivating children, the creation of literature, and various kinds of children's stories, plays and poems. Students create teaching materials and use them in model classes.

Infant and Childcare Programs

Students learn about the theoretical basis and practical operation of infant and childcare programs for use in the field, the contents of educational programs, educational institutes, the needs and characteristics of children at different levels of development, types of childhood educational programs and learning environments, create yearly, monthly, weekly and daily class plans and do model classes.

Musical Instruments (1, 2, 3, 4, 5)

This course covers the basic theory and practical methods of music education for children, and students learn the basic piano songs and accompaniments that instructors are required to know, along with exact rhythm and beat.

Childhood Creative Crafts Instruction

Students learn creative craft activities for use at childhood educational institutions, how to build learning environments, the use of recyclable materials in crafts, the use of clay and presentation of works, and how to encourage creativity in children.
