Our school is proud to be known as one of the best places for tourism and hospitality education in the world. Cheju Halla University has strong partnerships with many of Jeju's finest hotels, resorts and catering companies. This allows us to offer our students internship and education programs conducted under the guidance of world-class industry leaders.

Our Competitive Edge

  • The International School of Tourism and Hospitality offers three majors in the field of hotel and restaurant management, three in tourism and foreign languages, two in business management, and one in leisure sports.
  • Our departments provide 2 year Culinary Arts diploma programs and 4 year Hotel Management and Hotel Restaurant Management degree programs for international students.
  • Culinary Arts graduates can earn 2 degrees through our 2 + 2 program. Once you have your associate degree, you can apply for an additional 2 year course to earn a bachelor's degree (4 year degrees are available through the Top-Up Program).
  • High-tech educational environment: Our newly built International School of Tourism & Hospitality is state-of-the-art with 6 floors and a total area of 24,700 m².
  • Since 2014, Cheju Halla University has been a Government Scholarship University, so our international students are eligible to receive scholarships from the Korean government. There are currently 284 bachelor degree students and 67 language students from countries around the world studying at CHU.

Educational Research Institutes for Intensive Training and Lifelong Education

  • Confucius Institute
    Established with financial support from the government of China, the Confucius Institute is Korea's leading educational organization providing courses on Chinese language, culture and tourism. Educational programs are operated in conjunction with Nankai University, one of China's 10 best universities, and the institute promotes global academy-industry partnerships with businesses in China.
  • Cultural Tourism Education Research Center
    The institute publishes data packages and academic papers related to the field of cultural tourism, hosts forums and lectures, carries out and publishes academic research, and offers financial support to projects promoting cultural tourism.
  • Food Art Center / Jeju Traditional Food Research Center
    The center operates training programs to produce local leaders of the food industry, hosts special lectures and runs seminars
